Just Getting into the Workforce

Back in May our fifth cohort from the Fabshop completed its 26 week program. This group was sponsored by Service Canada, and for good reason, as 7 of the 12 who completed the program have found work in the trades since May.
Vancouver 2010 Banners Signing Event

On July 29th, 2010, The FabShop held a banner signing event in which John Furlong, VANOC CEO and three Olympian athletes – Kristi Richards, Tom Velisek and Justin Lamoureux, came to sign banners that will be sold online in support of this legacy project. (Read more)
Own a piece of history and support a wonderful social legacy
Former VANOC CEO John Furlong stopped by one of the 2010 Winter Games’ most prominent social inclusion programs, the RONA Vancouver 2010 Fabrication Shop. John visited the East 2nd Avenue location to personally sign some of the 1600 decorative Games street banners soon be available for sale. (Download Press Release here)
A Legacy Fabrication Shop

Tradeworks is now planning a new ‘Fab Shop’, based on the unique 2010 FabShop project sponsored by VANOC in the two years running up to the winter games. Tradeworks was a partner with RONA and VANOC in the creation of the unique 26 week training and work experience program; a program designed to give targeted populations a real chance at a trades career.
